On Friday, July 8, 2016 Concert celebrated the commencement of construction on The Kip District, and specifically the first phase, Tower One. It was an opportunity to bring together all of those who helped bring this exciting development to life, including those from Concert, the highly-skilled consultant team and Toronto City Councillor Justin Di Ciano.

Set on a temporary pop-up park backdrop – a nod to growth in this area to come – Brian McCauley, Concert President and Chief Operating Officer; Andrew Gray, Concert Vice President, Eastern Region and Councillor Di Ciano all spoke about how this development contributes to the larger vision of growth planned for Etobicoke and the Greater Toronto Area.

In the spirit of community growth, and in lieu of a traditional groundbreaking, an Autumn Maple Blaze tree was planted. The tree will continue to grow in a nearby nursery and when The Kip District is complete, return home.
